Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Reston: Police
Police say the woman was trying to cross Reston Parkway when she was hit by a Jeep Wrangler.

RESTON, VA — A 57-year-old woman has died after being struck while crossing Reston Parkway Thursday evening.
Police responded to the intersection of Reston Parkway and South Lakes Drive at around 6:20 p.m. to a report of a pedestrian that had been struck, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.
Police say the woman, who was not in a crosswalk, was trying to cross Reston Parkway when she was struck by a 2016 Jeep Wrangler traveling southbound.

The 30-year-old driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and was treated for minor injuries. Police identified the pedestrian as Asress Gobena Lakew of Reston.
