Perfect Sense Digital Builds Bicycles for YMCA Youth

In the spirit of the holidays and fulfillment of Perfect Sense Digital’s mission to give back to its local community, on Tuesday, December 16, employees from the Reston-based company will be assembling 50 bicycles to be donated to children at the Calomiris and Capital View YMCA branches in Washington, DC.

“When Lisa and I started Perfect Sense, we baked giving back into the fabric of the company. This holiday project allows all of our employees to come together in support of the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington, which offers so much, day in and day out, to families in the District. We hope the gift of these bicycles and helmets will provide these children with a holiday they’ll never forget,” said David Gang, co-founder of Perfect Sense Digital.

“Bicycles are such an important rite of passage that teach kids about goal setting, patience, hand-eye coordination, and healthy living,” shares Angie Reese-Hawkins, President & CEO of the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington. “We are so grateful for this timely donation by Perfect Sense Digital to spread cheer this holiday season with a gift that will keep giving.”

For the past two summers, Perfect Sense Digital has provided scholarships to send 30 children to YMCA Camp Letts, in Edgewater, Maryland. “Providing a memorable experience for these children is so important for our company. After the success of the past two summers and the notes we received from campers and parents, we wanted to continue to grow our relationship with the Y,” said Lisa Beaudoin, co-founder of Perfect Sense Digital.

Supporting Perfect Sense Digital in this effort is its neighbor at the Reston Town Center, The Bike Lane. Providing the bicycles and helmets at a discounted cost, as well as several mechanics for the morning to oversee the assembly, The Bike Lane continues its long-standing tradition of supporting local youth. “For years, we have partnered with the local YMCA and Reston Triathlon to help spread the joy of cycling. We are so excited to join with Perfect Sense Digital in this effort to bring holiday cheer to children in Washington, DC,” commented The Bike Lane’s owner, Anne Mader.

Assembly will begin at 9:30am on Tuesday, December 16, at Perfect Sense Digital headquarters, with the bikes delivered to the YMCA on Friday afternoon.
