Sobriety Watch: Police Beefing Up Presence in Reston Area This Saturday
Fairfax County Police will be on the lookout for drunk drivers along the Fairfax County Parkway.

Beware, drivers in the Reston area: if you have a few drinks before getting behind the wheel this weekend, police will be on the lookout for you.
The Fairfax County Police Department announced in a recent tweet that there will be "concentrated DWI patrols" along the Fairfax County Parkway in the Reston District this Saturday, Aug. 6.
The patrols will be in effect from 11:30 p.m. until 2:30 a.m., so drive sober -- or else.

A September 2015 blog post by the Fairfax County Police Department claims that "DUI enforcement works" and that there is an average of one alcohol-impaired driving fatality every 52 minutes based on 2013 statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Police say that drunk driving fatalities have been on the decline in the area in recent years.
