Police: Two Shot in Domestic Incident in Reston

Incident took place at 2:30 a.m. Thursday. A man and woman are in the hospital in life-threatening condition, police say.

Fairfax County Police were called to a report of a shot person at a home in the 2300 block of Branleigh Park Court at around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, April 23, according to a news release from the Fairfax County Police Department.

Police say they found a man and a woman, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, in the home. Both were transported to local hospital where they are both in life-threatening condition, according to police.

Based on the investigation, detectives believe that the incident is domestic in nature, the shooting was contained within the home, and that there is no public safety threat to the community, according to police.

The man and woman are in their 30s and lived in the home together, police said.

The shooting is under investigation as to which of the individuals perpetrated the incident. Detectives remain on scene; charges are pending further investigation.
