RCC Seeks Candidates To Fill 3 Board Of Director Seats
Reston Community Center will soon be conducting its annual Preference Poll to determine who will serve on its Board of Directors.

RESTON, VA — Reston Community Center is looking for a few good candidates to run for seats on the RCC Board of Directors. Any resident of Small District 5, who is 18 or older, can run for an appointment to the board.
The first thing a candidate needs to do is fill out a Candidacy Statement so that their name will be placed on the Preference Poll ballot. Starting 9 a.m., on Sunday, Aug. 1, Candidacy Statements will be available online or at all RCC facilities. The deadline for filing is 5 p.m., on Sunday, Aug. 15.
Every year, RCC conducts the Preference Poll to determine who will serve on the Board of Governors, which sets the overall priorities and polices for RCC's budget and programs. The 2021 Preference Poll is being conducted to fill three board positions for three-year terms.

Residents of Small District 5 will be able to cast their votes from Sept. 10 through Oct. 1, at 5 p.m. They can submit their ballots online, by mail, or by walk-in voting. Ballots that are mailed-in must be received by RCC's counting agent by 5 p.m., on Sept. 30.
A Sept. 9 Candidates Forum will take place at 6:30 p.m., at RCC Hunter Woods, which is located at 2310 Colts Neck Road in Reston. RCC will broadcast the forum live on its Facebook page.
