Record Crowds Expected at 'Taste of Reston' This Weekend

Around 25 restaurants will be on hand for the biggest food festival in Northern Virginia.

The 26th annual "Taste of Reston" food festival is almost here, and officials are expecting record attendance.

Taste of Reston, which will take place this Friday and Saturday, was voted the 2016 Best Food Festival of Northern Virginia by Virginia Living for the 5th year in a row as around 25 restaurants are expected to showcase their cuisine at the festival, which will feature cooking demos and live entertainment, according to a recent statement from the Reston Chamber of Commerce.

The event will kick off at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 17 and run until 11 p.m. Restaurants and vendors "will line the streets of the Reston Town Center," the statement notes. Bands such as 3 Sense Shy, Laura Lea & Tripp Fabulous and Orlando Philips will provide live entertainment.

The celebration continues on Saturday, June 18 from noon until 11 p.m.

"On Saturday enjoy live performances from Darcy Dawn and Co, Delta Spur and The Reagan Years and that's just naming a few," the statement adds. "From 12 PM – 8 PM on Saturday, guests can sample their restaurant favorites as chefs from local restaurants prepare on our culinary stage in the Wine 'n Dine section. Guest will also be able to learn more about wine and participate in tastings from Paradise Spring Winery and other local wineries."
