Redskins Star Kerrigan Lives 'Normal' Life at Reston Town Center

Despite signing a $57.5 million contract this week, Kerrigan still rents an apartment in the Town Center and even has a roommate.

Ryan Kerrigan is one of the NFL’s best linebackers, and as of this week is one of the Washington Redskins highest-paid players as the team enters its 2015 training camp.

The star linebacker and Purdue University alum inked a five-year, $57.5 million deal this week, an average payout of $11.5 million per season, rewarding his career-high 13.5 sacks last year that led to a Pro Bowl nod at year’s end.

With fame, status and wealth all on his side, many would expect Kerrigan to call a major mansion in the area home. They couldn’t be more wrong.

Kerrigan told the Washington Post he loves the Reston area, and noted he’s begun to receive recognition from community members who see him around town. His favorite part of the Town Center, however, may be the most relatable part of Kerrigan’s unique story.
