Registration for FCPS Community Budget Meeting at South Lakes High Now Open

The meeting will take place on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 9, as FCPS prepares for budget cuts of up to $100 million in 2016-17.

As Fairfax County Public Schools stare down a budget shortfall of approximately $100 million, the School Board is seeking input from community members as to how to balance the budget.

The county has already provided a forum in which residents can post proposed solutions or support someone else’s proposal, and it’s now preparing to host two community-wide meetings to gather more input.

The first of these community meetings will take place in Reston at South Lakes High School on Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 7-9 p.m. To register to attend the meeting, click here.
