Registration Remains Open for Firecracker 5K in Reston
The race will take place at Reston Town Center at 8 a.m Saturday morning, and will include live music, snacks and prizes for the winners.

Independence Day is now only one day away, but there’s still time to register for the Firecracker 5K for the Troops. The race is sponsored by Leidos, and proceeds will benefit the USO of Metropolitan Washington.
More than just a race, the Firecracker 5K is an all-encompassing July 4 celebration featuring live music, food and drinks, free gift items (including t-shirts and collectable pins) and prizes for the fastest runners. There will also be a “Battle of the Branches” competition held at the event, and the military branch with the most registered runners will have a donation made to the USO in its name.
The race will start at the Potomac River Running Store at Reston Town Center at 8 a.m. Saturday. The race course passes through the Town Center, as well as on Cameron Glen Drive, Sunset Hills Road, Reston Parkway and Town Center Parkway. There is a 60-minute time limit to complete the race.
