RESTON, VA -- Police arrested a woman who tried to leave a Reston Target with nearly $700 worth of merchandise she did not pay for late last week.
Police say 47-year-old Melissa Tochterman of Herndon -- who is an assistant principal at Hunter Woods Elementary School, according to reports -- "left the store with a cart full of unpaid merchandise" at around 6:30 p.m. Jan. 25, prompting officers to arrest her for grand larceny, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

The incident took place at the Target at 12197 Sunset Hills Road.
