Reston Association CEO Calls for Special Meeting, Work Session in August
The special meeting and work session are in relation to forming the 2016-17 Operating and Capital Budgets.

Reston Association CEO Cate Fulkerson has called for a special board meeting as well as a budget work session for next month, she announced in an email to RA board members Friday afternoon.
The special board meeting will take place this coming Wednesday, Aug. 5. The special meeting will give RA board members a chance to consult with legal counsel regarding land-use matters relevant to the planned redevelopment of Reston Town Center North and Tall Oaks Village Center, according to the email.
The work session is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 24, and it will give the board a chance to both:

- Consider points presented with the first draft of the 2016-17 Operating and Capital Budgets at Thursday night’s RA board meeting.
- Give feedback to RA staff members as to what should or shouldn’t be included on a second draft of said budgets.
These added meetings were scheduled after RA’s leadership team held an informational session about the budget process Thursday night’s board meeting. No action was taken, but additional meetings may still need to be scheduled throughout the budget process.
