Reston Association To Discuss Paid Parking At Reston Town Center On Thursday
The Board of Directors will put forward a motion at their Thursday meeting to engage with Boston Properties on the issue.

RESTON, VA — The Reston Association is about to get involved in the paid parking fiasco at Reston Town Center, according to the agenda for the upcoming Thursday meeting of the RA Board of Directors.
The proposed board motion is a move to authorized RA Board President Sherri Hebert and Vice President David Bobzien to "engage with representatives of Boston Properties and Reston Town Center (RTC) to inform and discuss with them the pressing requests from RA Members that further consideration be given to RTC's paid parking system," according to the agenda.
Specifically, RA members Suzanne Zurn -- a prominent critic of ParkRTC -- and Paul Steidler submitted comments requesting that the RA Board of Directors take a position against RTC parking policy. Steidler spoke at the June 22 meeting urging the RA Board to adopt a resolution that would take a position on the issue.

Paid parking has been a hot topic in Reston ever since it was introduced in January. Responding to intense backlash from locals, Boston Properties scaled back hours in the evenings, but many still aren't happy with not only having to pay for parking but also with the app itself.
The meeting will take place on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
