Reston Association Holds Summer Meeting to Hash Out a Number of Local Issues

The Reston Association's Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee is meeting July 5.

The Reston Association's Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee is holding a meeting July 5, and a number of local issues will be on the agenda.

The meeting will first open up for member comments before a Reston Soccer representative will make a presentation. Reston Soccer serves more than 1,500 youth players in the fall and spring seasons. Representatives are expected to discuss a proposal to convert some Reston Association-owned fields into turf fields.

Laura Kowalski, deputy director of recreation, will make a presentation after that, briefing the committee on all the programs the association offers members, ranging from aquatics to tennis to special events. It is an opportunity to update the committee on the programs the parks and recreation department offers.

The committee will then finalize its recommendations for the Board of Directors.

Meetings of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee are open to all members. The meeting will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 5 at the Reston Association Conference Center, which is located at 12001 Sunrise Valley Drive.
