Reston Association Restricting Activities at Lake Audubon

The decision is a temporary measure after a sewage pipe was found draining into the lake earlier this week. The pipe has since been fixed.

Earlier this week, the Reston Association reported a sanitary sewage pipe located between Wakerobin Lane and Cedar Cove Court was draining into Lake Audubon. A temporary patch was placed just hours after the discovery, and a permanent fix was completed the following morning.

Nevertheless, the RA is still advising residents not partake in recreational activities on the lake until further testing of the water is completed, it announced in a bulletin on its website.

The RA began posted caution signs around the lake on Thursday with the same advisory, seeking an opportunity to test the water quality and commence in any potential cleanups that might be needed.
