Reston Band Robbed in Oregon, Begs Fans for Help
Donations poured in from fans of RDGLDGRN after the band lost all their musical instruments in a burglary while on tour

RESTON, VA — A Reston-based band has raised more than $18,000 after turning to fans for help when they discovered that all of their musical instruments and equipment were stolen while on tour in Oregon a few days ago.
The members of RDGLDGRN were awoken early Nov. 11 by a call to the hotel room where they were staying in Medford, Oregon to a report that the back door of their trailer was open, according to the band's GoFundMe page.
The band found that someone had used bolt cutters to cut through the lock, and had stolen everything from the trailer. They estimated the damages to be more than $17,000 worth of instruments and equipment, and turned to their fans for help through GoFundMe.com.

"We are in the final stretch of our current tour and start a short run in a few days with no equipment and nothing was insured," the band wrote. "We just started our own label, released a new single, and have been touring with the Dirty Heads and we really need everyone and anyone's help with raising money to pay for this equipment."
Unfortunately, one instrument is irreplaceable: the main guitar used by band member Red, which was a gift from his godfather who has since passed away.

The burglary left the band in a difficult situation.
"We have a show Tonight and no instruments and 4 more shows to play before thanksgiving," they wrote.
Fortunately for them, their fans came through big time: as of Monday morning, they have raised $18,461, eclipsing their goal.
The band has worked with the likes of fellow Virginia musicians Dave Grohl and Pharrell Williams.
