Reston Companies Top List Of Largest DC-Area Cybersecurity Firms

RESTON, VA -- Several Reston companies are at the top of a new list on the largest cybersecurity companies in the greater D.C. area.

The Washington Business Journal released the list ranking companies by their 2017 metro-area revenue.

Three of the top four companies on the list are in Reston, and the fourth is in Herndon.

Carahsoft Technology Corp. in Reston is No. 1 with $4.1 billion in revenue. The company is a "Distributor/reseller of products/services to manage/reduce cybersecurity risk by identifying, protecting, detecting, responding and recovering from cyber threats to their critical infrastructure," according to the list.

In a distant second is Iron Bow Technologies LLC in Herndon, with revenues of $862.81 million. The company provides "network/endpoint defense" and data protection.

Third is ThunderCat Technology LLC in Reston with $320 million, and Knight Point Systems LLC in Reston with $150.76 million rounds out the top four.
