Reston Company Named Best Workplace 2018
The Washington Post's new workplace rankings are out, and a Reston company beat out everyone else.

The Washington Post has released its annual rankings for the best workplaces in the region, and a company based at Reston Town Center has been named No. 1 among large companies.
Appian, an enterprise software company founded in 1999, is located at 11955 Democracy Drive. The company has 562 local employees and 898 total employees.
"Appian had been sort of a hidden gem in Northern Virginia's technology scene until a 2017 initial public offering thrust the company onto the national stage," the Post wrote. "The company's 'business process management software' is more exciting than it sounds; Appian works with almost every industry to automate just about everything."

Engineers, coders, and marketers at Appian are able to move from project to project during their career, which the Post says helps the company keep their attrition rate under 10 percent.
