Reston Election Guide 2017: Voting Hours, Polling Places, Sample Ballot, More

Voting in Virginia governor primaries is Tuesday; here's the info you need to cast your ballot in Reston.

RESTON, VA — The Virginia primaries open for voting on Tuesday, June 13, and that means Fairfax County residents will be heading to the polls.

Voters will be choosing between Ralph Northam and Tom Perriello for the Democratic nomination for Virginia governor, and between Ed Gillespie, Corey Stewart, and Frank Wagner on the Republican ballot.

Virginia residents will also be voting in the lieutenant governor primaries. Fairfax County residents will additionally choose between Democratic candidates for HOD 42 and HOD 67.

Virginia requires photo identification in order to vote. You must provide at least one of the following acceptable IDs in order to cast your ballot (they can be expired for up to one year):

  • Virginia driver’s license
  • Virginia DMV-issued photo ID
  • United States passport
  • Employer-issued photo ID
  • Student photo ID issued by a school, college, or university located in Virginia
  • Other U.S. or Virginia government-issued photo ID
  • Tribal enrollment or other tribal photo ID
  • Virginia Voter Photo ID card
