Reston Family Wins $8,000 Energy Package Drawing

Heating + Cooling Giveaway was open all summer to homeowners who completed a Home Energy Check-up as part of Re-energize Reston.

Caitlin Lundquist and her family of Reston are the proud winners of a new ENERGY STAR-rated heating and cooling system (valued at $8,000 including installation). Sponsored by the Local Energy Alliance Energy (LEAP), Reston Association, M.E. Flow and Rheem, the Heating + Cooling Giveaway was open all summer to homeowners who completed a Home Energy Check-Up as part of the Re-energize Reston Community Challenge.

The Lundquists live in Reston’s Longwood Grove neighborhood, and Re-energize Reston is offering all Longwood Grove residents $10 off the $45 Home Energy Check-Up today through Oct. 31. More information is available here about scheduling a check up.

Re-energize Reston is a year-long campaign led by LEAP, Reston Association and Friends of Reston to engage Reston residents during the city’s 50 year anniversary. Residents are encouraged to get a $45 Home Energy Check-Up which includes a $10 donation to Friends of Reston for their environmental education and tree planting initiatives.

With a Home Energy Check-Up performed by LEAP, you get an evaluation of your home’s energy efficiency, the advice of one of LEAP’s Energy Coaches, and installation of energy efficiency products such as CFL lightbulbs, smart power strips and more — plus a customized checklist of additional energy saving measures for your home.
