Reston Father, Daughter Win $200K Lottery Prize
Lottery tickets purchased at a local Harris Teeter turned out to be big winners recently.

RESTON, VA — A father-daughter duo from Reston has just scored a $200,000 lottery jackpot by using family birthdays.
Casimer Carros often buys two lottery tickets using the numbers from his daughter's and granddaughter's birthdays, giving one of the tickets to his daughter Debra.
On June 8, they won big, with each of the tickets taking the Virginia Lottery's $100,000 top prize for the Cash 5 game.

“I checked the numbers thinking I’m not a winner,” he said in a Virginia Lottery statement. “But this time I was!”
Carros purchased the tickets at the Harris Teeter located at 11806 Spectrum Center.

He texted Debra the good news as soon as he checked the numbers and found he won, calling the experience "incredible.'
The Cash 5 drawing is held each day at 1:59 p.m. and 11 p.m., and the chances of winning the top prize are 1 in 278,256.
