Reston Gets First Bikeshare Stations
The new stations aren't quite operational yet, but it shows that bikeshares will be a reality soon in the area.
RESTON, VA — New bikeshare stations have popped up in Reston, and more will be coming soon to the area.
The Fairfax Alliance for Better Bicycling said in a recent blog post that they had spotted a new 17-dock station at the Reston Town Center Transit Station, as well as others nearby.
"While riding along Wiehle Ave near the Wiehle-Reston East station this morning we spotted a Capital Bikeshare truck headed toward the Reston Town Center," the post stated. "We decided to detour through the Town Center to see if any of the planned bikeshare stations had been installed. Sure enough, at the Reston Town Center Transit Station a 17-dock station is now in place."

FABB also rode past some other planned bikeshares in Reston and found a 15-dock station at Reston Regional Library and a 35-dock station at Wiehle-Reston East Metro station.
There were no bikes in any of the docks, but those will undoubtedly be available soon.
