Reston Harris Teeter Employee Attacked After Refusing to Sell Syringes: Police

The women pushed the employee, grabbed the syringes and ran, police say.

RESTON, VA — Two women are on the run after police say they assaulted a Harris Teeter employee who denied their request to buy syringes.

According to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department, two women went up to the pharmacy in the Harris Teeter in the 12900 block of Highland Crossing Drive at 6:55 p.m. on Nov. 9 and tried to purchase syringes.

"When an employee denied their request because they were not in the computer system, one suspect jumped over the counter, grabbed a pack of syringes and fled," the report states. "The employee tried to stop them and was pushed aside. The employee sustained a minor injury and self-reported for medical treatment later."

Police described the first suspect as white or Hispanic, weighing about 110 pounds and wearing dark leggings. The second suspect was described as black, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing about 200 pounds.
