Reston High Schooler Named to 2017 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band
South Lakes High's David Clark is one of only 125 high marching band members in the country to be selected.

RESTON, VA — A Reston high schooler has been named to the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band, an honor given to just 125 students out of millions across the country, according to a statement from the U.S. Army.
David Clark, an alto sax player at South Lakes High School in Reston, will be honored during a special recognition event on Oct. 20 at the school, which is located at 11400 South Lakes Drive.
"The U.S. Army All-American Marching Band performs each year at halftime of the nationally-broadcasted U.S. Army All-American Bowl," the statement reads. "By becoming a U.S. Army All-American, Clark is joining an elite group. Only 125 high school marching band members among the millions in the United States are selected. Band members are chosen not just because they excel musically, but because they are mentally and physically agile, they know the importance of teamwork, and they are able to adapt to challenging situations, similar to U.S. Army Soldiers."
