Reston Lake House Meeting Set for Thursday

StoneTurn Group wants feedback from the community on why the Lake House went over budget by $430,000.

RESTON, VA — The firm that was hired to figure out why the Reston Association's Lake House went over budget will be holding a community meeting this Thursday, so if you'd like to weigh in on how the association handled the purchase and refurbishment, now's your chance.

StoneTurn Group LLC was chosen by the Reston Association Board of Directors to conduct the review, and they have set up a meeting for Thursday, Feb. 9 from 3 to 5 p.m. at RA headquarters located at 12001 Sunrise Valley Drive, according to a statement from the Reston Association.

RA members will have the opportunity to speak for up to three minutes if representing themselves, and five minutes if representing an organization.

The Lake House or Tetra property was purchased for $2.6 million in July 2015, but renovations pushed the property $430,000 over budget afterward, forcing cutbacks in other areas of the Reston Association's budget. StoneTurn will investigate how it happened to avoid a repeat in the future.

The Lake House is located at 11450 Baron Cameron Avenue, and is open to leasing.
