Reston Little League Angels in Starliper Championship Game

The Reston Little League Angels defeated McLean American 6-1 to advance to the championship game of the Wayne Starliper baseball tournament in Vienna.  Representing the American League division of RLL, the Angels won their third consecutive game in the tournament, following wins over Alexandria (14-11) and Falls Church (14-3) with a hard-fought at Crabtree Field. 

Christian McIver led the way for the Angels, allowing one unearned run in 4 1/3 innings of work.  McIver threw strikes on 63 of his 75 pitches, and struck out 12 of the 13 batters he retired.  McIver also reached base three times and scored twice, as the Angels took an early 3-0 lead and never looked back.  Brayden DiBacco came on in relief and retired the final 5 batters to close it out.  

The Angles will face the Vienna Royals in the championship game on Thursday at 7pm, at Vienna-Crabtree field.
