Reston Man Charged With Possession Of Concealed Firearm
During a traffic stop, a Fairfax County police officer discovered that the driver had a concealed weapon with an altered serial number.

RESTON, VA — An officer from the Reston District Station of the Fairfax County Police Department arrested Javonta Thaxton, 24, of Reston on a firearm violation, according to the weekly police report.
At 11:10 p.m., on Dec. 30, an FCPD officer stopped a car driven by Thaxton for a traffic violation in 13400 block of Coppermine Road in the Herndon area of the county. The officer discovered that Thaxton was wanted by a neighboring jurisdiction and that he was found to be in possession of a concealed firearm with an altered serial number. Police charged Thaxton with carrying a concealed firearm, alteration of serial number from a firearm, and driving without a license.

FCPD also investigated a missile being fired into an occupied dwelling incident in Reston.
On Jan. 2, around 3:02 a.m., a homeowner in the 11800 block of Breton Court was awoken by a noise. They discovered a shattered glass door with a hole in their curtain. Officers responding to the scene found a bullet lodge inside a nearby wall. No injuries were reported.
