Reston Man Fires Handgun From His Porch: Police

Police say a local man fired multiple gunshots into the air from his porch.

RESTON, VA -- A Reston man has been arrested after police say he fired a handgun into the air from his porch.

Police were called to the 2200 block of Cocquina Drive at raound 5:49 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23 to a report of gunshots, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

"A witness directed officers to the exact house where the shots were fired, at which point officers secured the scene and had the residents of the home exit without incident," the report states.

Police determined that 45-year-old Manuel De Jesus Cruz of Reston had fired his handgun several times into the air from his porch.

De Jesus Cruz was charged with reckless handling of a firearm and shooting in a public place.
