Reston Man Runs Over Elderly Woman in His Car: Police

Police arrested 31-year-old Kenan M. Ozcan after they say he may have intentionally run over the woman.

FAIRFAX, VA — Police say the man who fatally struck a 75-year-old woman twice in Fairfax on Friday with his car is from Reston.

Police arrested 31-year-old Kenan M. Ozcan after he struck Maria Ascencio near the intersection of Route 50 and Rugby Road in Fairfax Friday at around 10:15 a.m., according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department. Police say Ascencio was crossing Rugby Road when a 2016 Dodge Dart traveling southbound struck her, and then turned around and struck her again before fleeing the scene.

Although Ascencio and Ozcan do not appear to know each other, police are investigating the possibility that Ozcan ran her over intentionally.
