Reston Nature Center Hosting 2016 Bird Photography Award Winners

The Audubon Society of Northern Virginia selected nine winners and three honorable mentions from 7,000 submissions.

RESTON, VA — Want to see some truly eye-popping bird photography right here in Reston? The Audubon Society for Northern Virginia has chosen their 2016 photography award winners, and those photos will be on display at the Walker Nature Center in Reston starting Saturday.

The exhibit features nine photos chosen from more than 7,000 submissions and 1,700 photographers, along with three honorable mentions. They will be on display from Jan. 28 through Feb. 14 at the nature center.

There will be an open house for the photography show on Sunday, Jan. 29, from 1 until 3 p.m. The exhibit will be open during regular nature center hours through its duration.

Entrants came from all 50 states -- and the District of Columbia -- and six Canadian provinces. Audubon Society of Northern Virginia, Walker Nature Center and Friends of Reston are co-sponsoring the show.
