Reston Optometrist Nets $195K On Virginia Lottery Online Game
An optometrist from Reston recently won $195,543 by playing a Virginia Lottery game online.
FAIRFAX, VA — A Reston optometrist was blown away after winning $195,543 on the Virginia Lottery's VIP game recently.
“It feels unbelievable," Dr. Michael Khalil told lottery officials. “I never saw myself as a lucky winner."
VIP Ultra is one of the dozens of instant online games that can be played on the Virginia Lottery app. The odds of winning VIP Ultra are 1 in 2.54. Players must 18 and over, as well as be physically in Virginia, to play the lottery.

Khalil, who works at the Khalil Eye Care in the North Point Village Center in Reston, has no immediate plans for his winnings.
Proceeds from the Virginia Lottery go to help fund K-12 education in Virginia. During the last fiscal year, Fairfax County received $53.4 million from the lottery.
