Reston Police Officers Get a Surprise from Local Residents

An over-sized card made the officers' day at the Reston District Police Station.

RESTON, VA — Police officers in Reston were touched to receive a personal thank you from a number of local residents who wanted to share their appreciation for the work they do.

Members of the Reston District Police Station of the Fairfax County Police Department received an over-sized card that included a rare thank you from locals.

"A nice woman took the time to have her community sign this over-sized card to show thanks for our service," Fairfax County Police said on their YouTube page. "We truly appreciate the support from all of you!"

The card says, "No matter how it might be written or said, please accept a sincere thank you!" It is signed by 12 people, and clearly touched the officers who received it, who promptly shared the gesture on social media.
