Reston Raises Money for Global Camps Africa

Patrons raised more than $20,000 at a fundraiser for Global Camps Africa at on Wednesday.

The nonprofit, founded by Restonian Phil Lilienthal, runs Camp Sizanani, a residential camp in South Africa for children whose lives have been affected by HIV and AIDS, as well as other HIV-prevention programs in South Africa.

Guests at Wednesday's benefit were treated to African food and music and bid several thousands of dollars on items such as two plane tickets on South African Airways and a Hawaiian getaway at Trump International.
