Reston Scholars Graduate From College Or Earn Recognition From Their Schools
Many Reston students have just started their freshman year at college, while others have earned academic honors from their schools.
RESTON, VA — Many college students from Reston have returned to their respective schools for the start of the fall 2021 academic semester. But some students spent the spring and summer studying on campus and have already distinguished themselves academically.
The following students from Reston made the Dean's List for the summer term at University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC): Bryan Hutson, Tracy Wein, Samuel Doerner, Tara Spencer, Robert Kirkhart, Eunika Bazgerova and Victoria Grady. A student must have completed at least six credit during the semester and earned a grade point average of 3.5 fo the term and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 to be named to the Dean's List.
James Madison University in Harrisonburg welcomed the following students from Reston earlier this month as freshman: Alexander Busch, Brooke Biltonen, Julie Barlund, Erin Harder, William Carlitti, Andrew Bolster, Oliver Giaon, Asa Gurney, Denis O'Hara, Kailin Converse, Kylie White, Joshua Dornak, Catherine Kruse, Andrew Hurt, Christopher Ulman, Natalie Jones, Peyton Raphael, Emma Dowling, Renee St John, Elizabeth Beausoleil, Andrew McNeish, Mindy Davis, Anthony Musti, Sean Montagne, Kyle Nobles, Lauren Dorfman, Ricardo Gonzales, Emmelia Kasprzyk, Sayed Yahya Samadi, Thomas Brickhouse and Isabella Alonso.

Garrett Grant of Reston graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic's West campus in San Jose, California, on Sept. 24.
James Madison University student Christopher Phelps of Reston is performing service from Thursday through Saturday at Carolina Tiger Rescue in Pittsboro, North Carolina. Carolina Tiger Rescue is one of three locations served by 62 JMU students during their fall break.
