Reston Snowstorm Update: Major Development

There's still a lot up in the air as far as Sunday and Monday, but things are trending in the wrong direction for snow lovers.

RESTON, VA -- The much-hyped storm that was supposed to hit Sunday and Monday suddenly dropped off the table with the latest forecasts that were released on Thursday. But Reston still could get hit with snow.

The low-pressure system making its way east still has a lot of question marks on it, and right now we are firmly within the range of either a lot of snow to not even any precipitation at all -- and trending toward the latter.

If we were to see a big event, it would begin sometime Sunday night and into the early Monday morning hours.

"As it stands now, nothing too heavy seems likely, but forecast adjustments are a good bet as new data come in," according to a forecast from the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang.

Thanks to the warm temperatures, even if we were to get some snow it won't stay for very long, with it all most likely melting away by Monday afternoon thanks to temperatures rising into the 40s.
