Reston Staples Closing, Total Wine Moving In: Report

The Staples at Plaza America is closing its doors, but it reportedly will be replaced by a different kind of retailer by the end of 2017.

RESTON, VA — The Staples at Plaza America will be closing its doors soon. Total Wine & More will be opening them right back up again.

The Washington Business Journal reports that the Staples at 11620 Plaza America Drive will close and beer, wine, and spirit store Total Wine & More would likely open in that location by the end of the year.

This marks the end of six years at Plaza America for Staples. There also used to be a Staples on Centreville Road in Herndon, but that one closed as well.

Meanwhile, Total Wine continues to expand its presence in Northern Virginia with their newest store. The company boasts of its large selection of booze on their website.

"Our typical store carries more than 8,000 different wines from every wine-producing region in the world, including more than 2,000 wines not available in any other store," the site states. "The typical Total Wine & More also carries more than 2,500 beers, from America‘s most popular brands to hard-to-find microbrews and imports, and more than 3,000 different spirits in every style and price range."
