Reston Town Center Hosts Drive-Through Earth Day Recycling, Donation Event
The April 22 drive-through event will accept donations, electronic waste, shredding and paint drop-offs at Reston Town Center.

RESTON, VA — Reston Town Center will mark Earth Day with its annual R4 Collection Day on Wednesday, April 22, offering a drive-through drop-off event for recycling and donations at the Reston Town Center Pavilion.
The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 11900 Market St. in Reston. Community members can bring a range of household items for responsible recycling, shredding or donation, according to a release. Participants also will receive a free sustainable gift while supplies last.
Accepted items include books, clothing, accessories and shoes, electronic waste, eyeglasses, housewares, ink and toner cartridges, paper files and documents for onsite shredding, small kitchen appliances and working electronics. Paint also will be collected, according to the announcement, but only until capacity is reached. Batteries will not be accepted.

Residents planning to take part may want to separate those items before arriving at the Pavilion to help keep the drop-off process moving.
The annual event is presented in partnership with Yuck Old Paint, Securis, TrueShred and Goodwill of Greater Washington, according to a release.

The R4 name stands for Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Reston, tying the event to Earth Day on April 22. The collection day is centered at the Pavilion in Reston Town Center, a location that allows residents to drop off items without leaving their cars.
Reston Town Center is owned by BXP, Inc., a publicly traded developer, owner and manager of workplaces in Boston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C. The company's portfolio totaled 52.6 million square feet and 179 properties, including eight properties under construction or redevelopment, as of Dec. 31, 2025.
