Reston Weather Update: Huge Snowfall is Coming, Here's How Much We're Going to Get

The amount of snow we're projected to get has increased big time in the last few days.

RESTON, VA — The biggest snowstorm of the 2016-17 season is coming to Reston on Monday, and although that's not saying much, we're likely to get a significant snowfall. But how much is likely in these ever-changing forecasts?

The Reston area is currently projected to get a whopping 8 to 12 inches of snow on Monday night, with another 1 to 3 inches coming on Tuesday morning, so there's a chance we could get more than a foot of snow when it's all said and done. That's a huge increase from forecasts just a few days ago, which called for at most an inch of snow.

It's all because of the powerful Nor'easter storm Stella, which is expected to drop 1 to 3 inches per hour along the Interstate 95 corridor beginning Monday evening and into Tuesday. D.C. will be spared the worst of the damage, with the highest snowfall totals striking Baltimore, New York, Philadelphia and Boston, which could see as much as 18 inches of snow.
