RESTON, VA — A Reston woman is one of four individuals charged in connection with the death of a 15-year-old girl in a park in Springfield last month in what police say was a gang-related killing.

Police arrested Cindy Blanco Hernandez, 18, of Reston along with three men -- 21-year-old Wilmer A. Sanchez Serrano, 18-year-old Aldair Miranda Carcamo, and 18-year-old Jose Castillo Rivas -- in the slaying of 15-year-old Damaris Reyes Rivas. Police also charged six teenagers between 15 and 17 years of age with abduction and gang participation, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

Police believe Damaris Reyes Rivas was taken to Lake Accotink Park against her will and assaulted before she was killed and left in the 7100 block of Wimsatt Road in Springfield on or around Jan. 8. The victim's body was discovered on Feb. 11.
