Reston Woman Cashes in $100K Lottery Ticket

Jacqueline Westenoff defied 1 in 278,256 odds when she cashed in her winning Cash 5 ticket.

A casual trip to a Shoppers Food Warehouse in Fair City Mall turned out to be a life-changing errand for Reston resident Jacqueline Westenoff.

Westenoff visited the Shoppers on June 7 and purchased a Cash 5 ticket. As it turns out, that ticket won her $100,000, defying the 1 in 278,256 odds of winning.

Ironically enough, Westenoff used Easy Pick and let the computer select random numbers for her winning ticket.

Westenoff is actually the second person to buy a winning lottery ticket from that Shoppers location this year. Earlier this summer, Francisco Barahona of Manassas won $100,000 in the lottery’s scratcher game Winner Take All. His odds of winning were 1 in 734,000.
