Reston Woman Identified After Being Found Dead At Great Falls Park
Police identified the woman found dead at Difficult Run Park as Carmen Lizet Puch, 42, of Reston. Detectives are seeking tips.

RESTON, VA — A woman found dead in a Great Falls park Monday morning has been identified as Carmen Lizet Puch, 42, of Reston, according to Fairfax County police.
Officers responded to Difficult Run Park in the 8800 block of Georgetown Pike at 6:43 a.m. Monday following a report of an unconscious woman lying in the parking lot near a 2011 Honda Civic.
Officers found Puch with trauma to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department’s Major Crimes Bureau and Crime Scene Section took over the homicide investigation. Police determined that the Honda Civic near Puch was registered to her.
Detectives were processing evidence and working to identify a suspect, according to the department. Police did not release a description of a possible suspect or disclose a potential motive.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine Puch’s cause and manner of death. Although police labeled a Facebook video of an earlier briefing as involving a stabbing, the department’s latest written update described Puch’s injuries as upper-body trauma and said the official cause remained pending.
Victim specialists have been assigned to help Puch’s family obtain resources and assistance, police said.
Anyone with information may contact the Major Crimes Bureau through Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS or 866-411-8477. Tips may also be submitted through the Fairfax County Crime Solvers website or the P3 Tips app. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could qualify for a cash reward.
Police also asked residents to register surveillance cameras through Connect Fairfax County to assist with criminal and missing-person investigations.
