The - Reston has donated 35 annual family memberships to families in Transitional Housing program. The families were at the Y on Saturday for a short introduction. Many of the children could not wait to jump right in the pool, and many parents were eager to improve their health by spending time in the fitness room.
“Families who are experiencing homelessness don’t have the resources to invest in the recreational and wellness supportive activities the Y offers," said Reston Interfaith COO Greg White. "In particular, youth who live in those families are not afforded opportunities to access after-school and summer recreational programs. Through this partnership, the Y and Reston Interfaith will be providing families who are homeless additional resources to help them achieve self-sufficiency."
