Reston's CenterStage Posts an Action-Packed June Schedule

A new Professional Touring Artist Series season will begin in September.

It'll be a busy June for Reston's CenterStage even with the 2015-16 Professional Touring Artist Series wrapping up and the long summer ahead.

First up will be a free event on June 11, when young actors ages 7 to 15 years old will "perform in fully produced original musicals that are a result of ten weeks of classes and rehearsals." The musicals will be Cat-FU! and The Bling Men and the Elephant, and the performance will begin at 3 p.m., according to a statement from the Reston Community Center.

If dance is more your thing, a week later the Conservatory Ballet will be performing June 17 at 7 p.m and June 18 at 6 p.m. for its Spring Gala. You can also check out the Spring Gala Toddler Matinee on June 18 with two performances, one at 11 a.m. and the other at 2:30 p.m.

The performances will be part of a number of Reston June events, including a community cookout, a concert series and a pool party.

All of this will lead to a new season of theater that will begin in the fall, Paul Douglas Michnewicz, the Reston Community Center's Arts and Events Director, said in the statement.

"This June, I invite you to explore more performances in the CenterStage as well as in the community while we put the final touches on the 2016-17 Professional Touring Artist Series Season that begins in September," he said.
