Reston's Congressman Mocks Trump, Goes Viral

Rep. Connolly's joke Time cover has been liked nearly 23,000 times on Twitter.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Reston's representative in Congress took to Twitter after a story began circulating that President Trump had hung a fake Time magazine cover in his golf courses, and his own photoshopped Time cover blew up on social media this week.

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D) of Virginia's 11th District, which includes Reston and Herndon as well as a strip of central to south Fairfax County and east Prince William County, was responding to a Washington Post report on Tuesday that fake Time magazine covers could be found at a number of golf courses owned by Trump.

"Wow, my first cover of Time," Connolly wrote on Twitter after the report emerged, along with a doctored picture of him on the cover. "Asked my staff to frame this and hang it in all four of my offices."
