Reston's Hidden Restaurants
Tucked among the many office buildings are dining spots that are not just for office workers.
Tucked away in Reston’s many office buildings are several spots that may not be on your regular lunch rotation.
Most of these "hidden restaurants" close by 4 p.m., but they offer tasty options for both breakfast and lunch. You may not see them from the road, hence their hidden nature, but these cafés are worth a visit, even if you don’t work in the building.
Leaving famished from a doctor’s appointment that ran just too long near Sunrise Valley Drive and Reston Parkway? Pop into the which is tucked away at the top of the hill in the third building of the complex, filled with lawyers' and physicians’ offices.
Uptown Café has a robust menu, starting with breakfast: omelettes, bagels, croissant sandwiches, and yogurt. For lunch they offer subs, wraps, sandwiches, soups, fruit, chips, nuts and other snacks, Pepsi products, and catering platters. Look for their delicious Korean specialties – usually offered daily – like Bimibob and Bulgogi.
Across and down Sunrise Valley Drive, is feeding daytime hunger with a sense of humor and chic decor (for a deli). Note the three “world” clocks that offer you the time in the exotic lands of Fairfax, Reston and McLean. Choose from their “superb sandwiches” or “fresh salads,” for which they are most known. They offer at least 15 choices of both, chips, Coca-cola products, and delicious bakery items.

albeit small, offers tuna melts, Reubens, gyros, grilled chicken, and steak-and-cheese sandwiches, sodas and snacks, in addition to sturdy breakfast choices of egg sandwiches and omelettes, and of course, coffee.
Just past Wiehle Avenue on the Sunrise Valley Drive side, the Campus Commons office park is host to the in the Siemens Building. Walk through the gleaming lobby, past the Mailroom, and into the very friendly and bright cafe.
Forget to eat your Wheaties in the morning? The cafe can set you up with eggs and corned beef hash with toast or a breakfast burrito. The “Happy Lunch Menu” includes 37 choices of sandwiches, from the “Avocado Dream” to the “Yankee Doodle,” plus several salad and soup choices and a wall of refrigerators that house at least two of your favorite workday beverages.

Hungry after the trip to the Reston Post Office on Sunset Hills Road? Go across the street to the huge IBM/Stanley Martin office building to find the delicious Deli. They offer a hot food buffet (for breakfast and lunch) and a salad bar, not to mention paninis, wraps, build-your-own sandwiches, fries, onion rings and jalapeño poppers. You can fax in your lunch order, pick it up and park yourself in the large lunchroom to catch the day’s news on CNN on the wide-screen television.
