Reston's NVR Storms Back Onto Fortune 500 List

The parent company of Ryan Homes had been absent from the list since the Great Recession began.

Reston's NVR is back on the Fortune 500 list after a big year.

A 16.1 percent jump in revenues over last year was good enough to get the homebuilding and mortgage banking giant to the No. 498 spot on the list, posting revenues of $5.2 billion.

NVR is the parent company of Ryan Homes. It is located at 11700 Plaza America Drive.

It's the first time NVR has made the list since the Great Recession slammed mortgage companies in 2007-08.

NVR has two business segments: homebuilding and mortgage banking. Under its homebuilding half, it constructs homes via Ryan Homes, NVHomes and Heartland Homes. NVR homebuilding serves 27 metropolitan areas in 14 states on the East Coast and in the Midwest.

NVR Mortgage is headquartered in Reston and has branches in areas where it also has homebuilding operations.
