Roads Closed In Reston, Herndon Due To Winter Weather: Police

Police have shut down two roads in the Reston and Herndon area after surprise November snowfall Thursday morning.

RESTON/HERNDON, VA -- Two roads in the Reston and Herndon area have been shut down due to Thursday morning's snow.

The Fairfax County Police Department reports that Fox Mill Road at Folkstone Drive in Herndon is closed, as is Wiehle Avenue at Inlet Court in Reston.

There is no further information on why the roads are closed. The list was last updated at 9:10 a.m.

"This list includes locations where the roads are shut down or traffic is currently being affected," police say. "This is a rapidly evolving weather event with changing roadway conditions."

Those two road closures are the only two reported in the Reston District Station. The Fair Oaks District Station, which includes a portion of Herndon, did not have any road closures reported.
