RTC Security Kicks Out Television Crew During ParkRTC Report

WHAG was reporting on the controversy over paid parking when security told them that filming was "no longer" allowed at Reston Town Center.

RESTON, VA — A local TV news crew was kicked out of Reston Town Center while filming a report on the paid parking situation.

The crew from WHAG, which is based in Hagerstown, Md., was at RTC recently for a report on the controversy over ParkRTC at the Town Center when they reportedly were approached by security guards.

"During the interview, security interrupted, stating that photography is no longer allowed on the Town Center's site as of late, which used to be a public space for all community-goers," the report states. "Facebook users claim that this was never an issue."

Reston Town Center does indeed have a photography policy that restricts "professional photography or videography."

"If you are wanting to host a professional photography or videography shoot or will be publishing your photos, please email us at marketing@restontowncenter.com to request a photography permit," a FAQ on the RTC website states. "For general photos and memory capturing during your visit, no permit is needed."
