Happy New Year!!!
The J and J Project is BACK. We took some time off to relax and regroup. We are so excited for 2014 and all the style ahead!

This January weather is getting me down. I have had enough of these cold, gray dreary days so I am focusing my energy on the sales -- clothes always brighten my day!
This is the time of year that I buy my "Must Haves". The classic staples that never go out of style such as the black suit, cashmere sweaters, white button down shirt, and jeans. Oh, and don't forget shoes! This is a great time to buy pumps, boots and booties on sale. As long as you keep the style classic, they will last until next year and beyond.
So, here are some of the items I am adding to my closet -- and I got some great deals!
- My black blazer has seen better days, so I am replacing it with (here or here).
- Every year I replace my white button downs. They get grimy after a year of wearing. (here, here, here) I got such a great deal on some, I am buying all 3. Trust me I will wear them. And if not this year, I will wear then next year. They won't go out of style.
- Cashmere, the more the merrier! (here, here, here) NOT getting all 3 but love all of them. I will have to figure out which one or two I want the most.
- Boots, Boots, Boots - (here, here, here) I need new camel color boots, so I found and love these 3. Now just have to decide which ones my bank account will allow. The black booties (here) were such a good deal, and I know I will wear them a lot. These booties (here) are just so cute... I will keep my eye on them, hopefully they will go on sale just in time for spring.
- Oh, and for fun, I have been wanting a pair of sparkle statement shoes but hate paying full price. Look at these great shoes on SALE! (here, here, here) Just love a touch of sparkle and these will be so great with boyfriend jeans, a cashmere sweater and blazer.
- Jeans--I am not really in need of jeans but I received a gift certificate to Not Your Daughters Jeans and they are having a huge SALE. So I am going to try them out and see what I think. I will let you know.
While shopping for my replacement "Must Haves" I came across these great pieces at great prices so if you are in the market for any of these (which you should be, since they are closet staples) check them out!
Black Leather Jacket - simple, classic with a great shape
Hounds tooth Jacket - this can be worn as outer wear or a blazer.
Green and Leather Jacket - if you don't want to invest in a leather jacket--this is a great alternative.
Dark Grey Blazer - love the shoulders. This shape will balance an hour glass figure
Plaid Button Down - been wanting one but since it is such a bold statement, you can't wear it too often. However, for under $20 who can say no?
Faux Leather Pants - usually best to find ones with stretch and go up a size.
Neutral Bootie- Great neutral bootie, can wear with jeans, dress, pants...casual or dressed up. The neutral color elongates the leg, while the bootie style in updated and current.
