Sanitary Sewer Pipe Leaking into Lake Audubon: Reston Association Reports
RA Watershed manager Nick Bellezza received a call regarding the pipe Monday afternoon, and within hours county workers stopped the leak.

Reston Association confirmed on its Facebook account that a temporary patch was placed on the leak by 7 p.m. Monday evening and that a permanent patch was installed Tuesday morning.

A sanitary sewer pipe located in Reston between Wakerobin Lane and Cedar Cove Court was discovered to be draining into Lake Audubon on Monday afternoon, the Reston Association announced in a news release late Monday evening.

RA Watershed Manager Nicki Bellezza reportedly received a call at approximately 3:30 p.m. regarding the pipe leaking white water into the stream behind Wakerobin Lane. Fairfax County Wastewater Management was notified and dispatched workers to stop the leak.
A temporary patch was placed by 7 p.m., and county personnel are expected to return to the site on Tuesday to determine how to permanently fix the pipe.
