Seahawks Price, Smith Both Headed for Appalachian State

South Lakes football players Sean Price and Darius Smith have signed letters of intent to play football at Appalachian State in Boone, NC.

Wednesday was National Signing Day.

Smith, a wide receiver, defensive back  and kick returner, scored 14 touchdowns for the Seahawks in 2o1o0. Price, a wide receiver, scored 13 touchdowns and amassed 780 receiving yards in 2010.

"We're all excited that Sean and Darius have the opportunity to not only fulfill their dreams of playing college football, but also that they get to continue as teammates," said South Lakes coach Andy Hill. Hill's team finished 8-4 in 2010, Hill's first season.

"They've got a strong, competitive bond that pushes each other to perform at their best levels.  We wish them all the best at App State."

Appalachian State won three straight NCAA Division I-AA football titles from 2005-07.
